Thapelo Andrew Sindane

Thapelo Sindane is currently completing his Computer Science, Masters degree at the University of Pretoria (UP) working in the space of Natural Language Processing for low-resourced languages. His key interest area is the use of cross-lingual models for learning shareable language properties that can be used for effective learning of machine learning models in low-resourced settings presented by most African languages. He is also a research student that leads the first collaboration of the ongoing University of Pretoria and Google in the collection and annotation of downstream datasets for low-resourced languages. He is also affiliated with Data Science for Social impact group at UP, Deep learning IndabaX, and Masakhane.
